Bertha Silguero

On Friday May the 24, our beloved mother and grandmother was carried by the angels of God to Abraham’s Bosom, the Home that she longed for and sang about so often. 

She was born on May 2, 1933 to Eloy and Porfilia Carmona in Monte Rubio, Magdalena, Colombia. She was one of ten children. Bertha moved to Houston Texas in 1977.

Bertha is preceded in death by her daughter, Alix Silguero and her husband Gustavo Silguero, Sr.

She is survived by her children: Gustavo Jr. (Holly), Diana and Miriam (Jesus), her grandchildren: Elizabeth (Keith), Vicky (Jeremy), Joel (Lacey), Jonathan (Lauren), Junior (Texana), Rebecca (Tommy), Joseph (Jana), Daniel and Vanessa, Her great grandchildren: Natalie, Victoria, Skylar, Jonah, Luca, Sophia and baby girl on the way.  Her sisters Aura (Ele) Sierra and Jovita Farjado and many nieces and nephews here and in Colombia.

She was known as Bertha, Hermana Bertha, Mami, but Mama was her favorite name of all. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She received the Gift of the Holy Ghost and was baptized in the Name of Jesus at the age of 24, while pregnant with Gustavito. She was rooted in the Word of God and became a strong faithful women of God, ministering to women, youth, the sick and the poor touching many lives during her years attending Iglesia Pentecostal Unida Hispana. Even after moving to Fuego Apostolico church, she never stopped witnessing, teaching, and praying for others and her family. Her greatest desire and prayer was to have her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren living and serving the Lord.
