Carmen Barbosa

Maria Del Carmen Barbosa beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, at the age of 82 surrounded by those that love her and will miss her dearly.

Carmen was born on April 23, 1944, in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to the late Simon Chavez and Maria del Pilar Cardenas. She was raised with strong values of faith, hard work, generosity and love for family. Qualities that would define her throughout her life.

On June 4, 1966, she married Jose Victor Barbosa and for 60 years they shared a lifetime of memories, weathering life’s storms and celebrating its joys side-by-side. Their 60-year marriage was a true testament to partnership, built on a foundation of love, laughter and mutual respect.

Carmen was a woman of many talents and endless energy. She was a gifted seamstress, she created beautiful wedding, quinceanera and special occasion dresses. She handmade floral masterpieces from gum paste, loved to knit and crochet made countless hats, scarfs, socks, blankets for family and friends. She found joy in many things: gardening, collecting ceramic frogs, playing loteria, watching YouTube novelas, dancing and most of all spending time with family in her second home in El Desague, Montemorelos.

Carmen is survived by her devoted husband, Jose Victor Barbosa. Her sons Victor Hugo (Hector Pierantoni), Robert (Sylvia), Alfonso (Claudia) and daughter Veronica (Ismael Gutierrez). Her cherished nine grandchildren: Robert (Karina), Ismael (Anailly), Karina, Rebecca, Vivyan, Ineyda, Andrea, Briana, and Carysa. Her baby great-granddaughter: Gianna. Her loyal cat: Chochi. Her brothers: Armando and Rodrigo Chavez. Her sisters: Elva, Gloria and Myrna Chavez. All listed held a special place in her heart and brought immeasurable happiness to her life.

We take comfort in knowing Carmen is at peace and her memory will remain in our hearts forever.

María del Carmen Barbosa querida esposa, madre, abuela y bisabuela, falleció en paz el 27 de Junio de 2026, a la edad de 82 años, rodeada de quienes la amaban y la extrañarán profundamente.

Carmen nació el 23 de Abril de 1944, en Montemorelos, Nuevo León, México, hija de los finados Simón Chávez y María del Pilar Cárdenas. Ella crecio con valores sólidos de fe, trabajo, generosidad y amor por su familia. Cualidades que la definieron a lo largo de toda su vida.

El 4 de Junio de 1966, contrajo matrimonio con José Víctor Barbosa y durante 60 años compartieron una vida llena de recuerdos, enfrentando juntos las dificultades y celebrando las alegrías. Su matrimonio de seis décadas fue un verdadero ejemplo de compañerismo, cimentado en el amor, la alegría y el respeto mutuo.

Carmen fue una mujer de grandes talentos y con una energía inagotable. Fue una excelente costurera que confeccionó hermosos vestidos de novia, de quinceañera y para ocasiones especiales. Elaboraba a mano verdaderas obras de arte florales con pasta de goma. También disfrutaba tejer creando innumerables gorros, bufandas, calcetines y cobijas para su familia y amigos. Encontraba felicidad en muchas actividades: cuidar su jardín, coleccionar ranas de cerámica, jugar lotería, ver novelas en YouTube, bailar y sobre todo, pasar tiempo con su familia en su segundo hogar en El Desagüe, Montemorelos.

Le sobreviven su devoto esposo, José Víctor Barbosa. Sus hijos Víctor Hugo (Héctor Pierantoni), Robert (Sylvia), Alfonso (Claudia) y su hija Verónica (Ismael Gutiérrez). Sus queridos nueve nietos: Robert (Karina), Ismael (Anailly), Karina, Rebecca, Vivyan, Ineyda, Andrea, Briana y Carysa. Su pequeña bisnieta: Gianna. Su fiel gato: Chochi. Sus hermanos: Armando y Rodrigo Chávez. Sus hermanas: Elva, Gloria y Myrna Chávez. Cada uno de ellos ocupó un lugar muy especial en su corazón y llenó su vida de un inmenso amor y felicidad.

Encontramos consuelo al saber que Carmen descansa en paz y que su recuerdo permanecerá para siempre en nuestros corazones.
