Consuelo Torres Briones, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the age of 70. She was born on January 20, 1956 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and spent her life devoted to loving and caring for those around her.

A woman of strength, kindness, and unwavering compassion, Chela had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and valued. She found joy in the simple moments—family gatherings, making others laugh with her unique humor, her daily conversations with loved ones, endless loving compliments, love of cooking and dancing. Despite a lifetime of obstacles and health issues, she remained resilient and never let them define her. Her love was steady and unconditional, and her guidance shaped the lives of her family in countless ways.

Chela lives on through her loving child, Eva (Lizeth Briones-Fairley); her son in-law, Terrell Fairley; her grandchildren, Abbigail and Donovan Fairley; her sister and brother, Maria Irene Zapata and Emilio Torres Escobedo, and many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory forever. She was lovingly welcomed into heaven by her son, Jose R. Briones; her brother, Leonardo Torres; and her mother, Lucia Escobedo

Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Mujer de fortaleza, bondad y compasión inquebrantable, Chela tenía una manera especial de hacer que todos se sintieran bienvenidos y valorados. Encontraba alegría en los momentos sencillos: las reuniones familiares, hacer reír a los demás con su humor único, sus conversaciones diarias con sus seres queridos, sus interminables y amorosos cumplidos, así como su amor por la cocina y el baile. A pesar de una vida llena de obstáculos y problemas de salud, se mantuvo resiliente y nunca permitió que estos la definieran. Su amor fue constante e incondicional, y su guía marcó la vida de su familia de innumerables maneras.
