David Kirk, 58, was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 22, 1968. He passed away on October 13, 2026.
He lived with an open heart, a generous spirit, and a gift for making an ordinary day more fun.
Family meant everything to David. He loved spending time with the people closest to him, adored his dog, Kujo, and loved his wife, Tommie, deeply. He was the kind of man who could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and before long, a stranger might feel like an old friend.
David worked hard as a pipe insulator and loved turning a wrench on vehicles. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, having a good time, and living every day to the fullest.
He also looked out for people who were struggling, especially those experiencing homelessness. If someone needed help, David was ready to give what he could even the shirt off his back. Hopefully, he had another one nearby.
And David enjoyed a good smoke now and then. Those who knew him can imagine he’d want us to smile about that, too. He understood that life was meant to be lived, laughter was good medicine, and a little fun belonged in the day.
David leaves behind his beloved wife, Tommie Kirk, 58; his son, Johnathan Kirk, 33; his daughter, Cheyenne Kirk, 32; and his stepson, Christopher Sanzo, 37. He was a proud grandfather to Elijah, 5, Isaiah, 3 , Richard, 13, Isabella, 9, Christian, 10, Eliana, 1 and Hailey Sanzo who will carry his love and stories with them.
David will be remembered for his hard work, his big heart, his easy conversation, and the joy he brought wherever he went. He lived fully, loved deeply, and made room for others along the way. Though he will be dearly missed, the laughter, kindness, and memories he leaves behind will keep his spirit close.
