With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Jaime Ruiz Alanis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who was called home to be with our Lord on April 9, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Born on May 12, 1958, and raised in Ejido Ranas, Nuevo León, Mexico. Jaime will be remembered for his loving heart, unwavering devotion to his family, strength, and the kindness he shared so freely with those who loved him. His life was a blessing, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
His famous line, “I’m the boss,” often said with a serious face, was a loving reminder of his strong character and the joy he brought to those around him. Jaime will be remembered not only for his music, but also for his humorous personality and unwavering love for his family—especially his grandchildren. He was a very selfless person who never put himself first. A proud provider and fiercely protective of those he loved. Jaime found his greatest joy in his family. He carried himself with strength and devotion, always making sure his loved ones were cared for and supported. He was deeply proud of his family, and that pride was reflected in everything he did.
Jaime had a deep passion for music and was especially known for his remarkable talent and unforgettable voice. His love for Tejano music touched the hearts of many, both in his community and throughout Mexico. Whether he was singing among family or sharing his gift with others, his voice carried emotion, joy, and pride in his culture. Through his music, Jaime created lasting connections and memories that will continue to resonate with all who had the privilege of hearing him.
Jaime found some of his happiest moments in his own backyard, where he loved to cook and gather with family and friends. Those times were filled with laughter, good food, and the simple joy of being together. He especially enjoyed cheering on his beloved Houston Astros, sharing in every game with the people he loved most. Those backyard memories—full of warmth, connection, and celebration—will always hold a special place in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Margarita and Guadalupe Ruiz, and his brothers, Reynaldo and Guadalupe. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth; his two sons, Jaime Jr. and his wife, Suly, and Ramon “Moncho” and his wife, Crystal; as well as his beloved grandchildren: Gabriel Jaime, Geovanni, Arya, Lyanna, and Aaron Ruiz.
He leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but we find peace in knowing that Jaime is now at rest. He now resides in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, where there is no more pain—only eternal peace and love. While we will miss him deeply, we hold on to the assurance of seeing him again, we carry his love, strength, and memory with us always.
