It is with great sadness that the family of Jazlynn Star Garcia, 19, announce her sudden passing on December 30, 2021, in Houston, Texas.
Jazlynn was born on September 9, 2002, in Houston, Texas to Benjamin and Ivette Garcia. Second born to her parents she was number two of the Garcia three. As a child Jazzy was not your typical girl, she marched to the beat of her own drum. Dresses were replaced with jeans; shiny shoes were replaced with boots. A lover of animals, there is no exact number of pets or strays Jazz cared for. Her fur baby was Leo, a gentle chubby Pitbull who was completely loyal to her. Jazlynn was an old soul who enjoyed an extensive variety of music. Her heart, laugh and voice were as big as her personality.
Her high school years were among her best and she made the natural transition into choir and FFA. Jazz made a huge impact on her peers as a strong-minded jokester who was always willing to lend a helping hand. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 2021 and was recently asked to return to sing the national anthem for the district annual auction. Jazz was ready and willing to oblige but God had bigger plans for our shining star.
When Jazlynn was just 13 years old, she met the love of her life, Alfredo Melendez. A year later he asked her to be his girlfriend and their journey began. Nothing Jazz did was conventional, including her relationship with Alfredo. At the early age of 19 years, she dreamed of being a wife and having children, lots of them. She was strong willed, determined, always got her way but completely in love with him. He was her future, and she was his.
Jazlynn will always be remembered by her parents, Benjamin, and Ivette Garcia; sister, Azalea; sister, Delilah; boyfriend of 6 years, Alfredo; fraternal grandfather, Lloyd Dalton; paternal grandfather, Benjamin Garcia and a host of Uncles, Aunts, and cousins.
Jazlynn is preceded in death by her fraternal grandmother, Andrea Lerma, paternal grandmother, Susan Martinez Garcia.
Our family was not expecting the loss of Jazz or for her life to be cut so short so soon. We are devastated by this loss and will feel her absence forever.
A viewing for Jazlynn will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 10 AM until 2PM in Houston, Texas at Integrity Funeral Home. A Celebration of life will follow 2 PM-3 PM.
A reception in Jazlynn’s honor will follow at Euphoria Reception Hall, 2121 Red Bluff Rd, Pasadena 77506
