Lorraine Evette Maldonado

November 12, 1971 — May 22, 2025

Lorraine Ochoa Maldonado, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 22, 2025, at the age of 53. She was born in Houston, Texas on November 12, 1971.

Family was at the heart of Lorraine's world. She is lovingly survived by her father, Lorenzo Ochoa Abrego, her devoted husband and high school sweetheart, Michael Maldonado, daughter, Brittany Maldonado, and sons, Michael and Vincent Maldonado. Lorraine found joy in her grandchild, Izaiah Maldonado Gutierrez, who brought light into her life, and she looked forward to each moment spent with him. Her love extended to her sisters, Elizabeth Lozano, Rita Robles, Patricia Ochoa Garcia, Doreen Alderete, Jessica Ochoa Kelson and to her niece, Angel Amaya, who was like a sister to her.

Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Lorraine was a friendly and social spirit, maintaining a big circle of friends with some she considered family. During her high school years, she was a proud member of the Milby High School GBC Booster Club where she enthusiastically spread the Milby Buffs school spirit. She was always hard working and spent her career in accounting and human resources, but her true passion was baking. For over 16 years, she was a talented baker and made countless decorative cakes and cookies for many clients. In addition to baking, she poured herself into taking care of her grandson Izaiah for as long as she could. She also loved spending time with family, dining out, 80’s music, watching movies, being crafty, going to the beach, spending time in the country, helping Mike and friends with BBQ cookoffs, shopping, a well-made Pina Colada or cold Budweiser, their family dog Tito, and Christmas.

Lorraine was predeceased by her mother, Martha Rojas Ochoa, and her grandmother Modesta Soto Rojas. Her legacy lives on through her family and close friends whose lives she enriched during her time with us. May she rest in peace and forever be remembered.
