Manuel Zuniga, 63, passed away peacefully on November 7th, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones in Houston, Texas. Born in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico, Manuel was a man whose warmth, generosity, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Manuel is survived by his devoted wife, Maria Luisa Zuniga, with whom he shared a lifetime of love. Together, they raised four children: Karina Zuniga (and her husband, Christian Reyes), Jose Zuniga, Eduardo Zuniga (and his wife, Francis Mendiola), and Efrain Vidauri. Manuel was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first grandson, a joyful addition to be welcomed by his son Eduardo and daughter-in-law Francis.
He was also a cherished brother to Apolonio, Felix, and Nicolas Zuniga, and the loving son of Monica Barraza and Jose Nieves Zuniga.
A passionate sports fan, Manuel could often be found cheering for his favorite teams, Club América and the Houston Astros. His love for sports was only matched by his joy for cooking and bringing people together, especially during his favorite holiday, Thanksgiving Day. His kitchen was a haven of warmth where family, friends, and even new acquaintances felt welcomed and loved, as he found immense joy in sharing food and laughter.
Manuel’s home was filled with the love of his two loyal dogs, Otis and Khloe, who were his constant companions. He was a man who made everyone feel like part of his family, extending his big-hearted nature to all he encountered. His generosity and open arms were a testament to his spirit, making his presence one that will be deeply missed by many.
Manuel Zuniga leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless memories. His life was a testament to the power of kindness, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
