Maria Lara, a cherished soul whose warmth and love radiated through all she touched, passed away at the age of 62 on February 28, 2026, in her beloved home in Houston, Texas. Surrounded by her loving family, Maria's transition into eternal rest marks the end of a life rich with devotion, compassion, and an unwavering spirit.

Born on September 6, 1963, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Maria was the daughter of Hilario Valenzuela and Petra Carbajal Valenzuela. From an early age, she exemplified resilience and kindness, qualities that would define her life and inspire those fortunate enough to know her.

Maria was a devoted wife to her husband, Leopoldo Lara. Their love story is one of partnership and unwavering support, a bond that deepened with every challenge and joy. As a mother, Maria poured her heart into nurturing her children, grandchildren, siblings and extended famile and friends. 

She took immense pride in their achievements, always encouraging them to follow their dreams while instilling values of compassion and integrity.

As a pillar of her family, Maria’s legacy will be carried on through her loving husband and children, who will forever treasure the beautiful memories they created together. Her ability to uplift those around her, her laughter that could light up a room, and her generous spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Maria’s journey continues in the hearts of her family, where her love will echo in every cherished memory. While she may have departed from this world, her spirit will forever shine bright.

A visitation will be held at Integrity Funeral Home in Houston on March 3, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to join together in honoring Maria's life and sharing in the collective love that she inspired.

The funeral service will take place the following day, March 4, 2026, at Integrity Funeral Home, starting at 11:30 AM, followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

Maria Lara will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
