McDonald Gerald Villafana, a devoted husband and father passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas, on January 29, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of his beloved family. Born on March 24, 1942, in the vibrant land of Trinidad and Tobago, he embraced life with a spirit that was as infectious as the Calypso music he cherished deeply. In his youth, he even performed in a band, an endeavor that reflected not only his love for music but also a zest for life filled with joy and rhythm.
A man whose labor was defined by dedication and hard work, McDonald carved out a reputable career in pipefitting, a vocation that requires not just skill, but a profound strength of character. His commitment to his craft and his unwavering work ethic inspired many who had the privilege of knowing him, and he will be remembered as a pillar of strength and reliability.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene Villafana and Rita Macano Villafana; in-laws Veronica, Curtis and Kent.
McDonald is survived by his beloved wife, Angela Murray Villafana; sons Darron and Kirk (Meredith); daughters Denise and Lisa; grandson Kameron; siblings Kenneth, Gloria, Jay and Nick; cousin Marge; in-laws Norbert, Stevenson, Wendy, Ronald, Deryck (Posse.) He is also mourned by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends, all of whom hold cherished memories of laughter and love shared with him.
As we remember McDonald Gerald Villafana, we honor a life well-lived, one that resonated with kindness, hard work, and an enduring love for family and music. The world is dimmer without him, yet his legacy of strength, joy, and familial devotion will forever illuminate the hearts of those he leaves behind.
