With deep sorrow and unwavering hope in Christ, we announce the passing of our beloved Pastor, Dr. Gabriel D. Ogboi, who entered eternal rest on February 16, 2026, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 67.Born on October 15, 1958, in Nigeria, Pastor Gabriel dedicated his life to the service of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. From an early age, he answered the call to ministry and remained steadfast in his commitment to the Gospel throughout his life.
As the faithful shepherd of Bride of Christ Church, Pastor Gabriel served with wisdom, humility, and compassion. For decades, he nurtured and strengthened the congregation through Spirit-led leadership and unwavering devotion to biblical truth. His preaching was both bold and tender, deeply rooted in Scripture and guided by the Holy Spirit. He was not only a teacher of the Word but a living example of it.
Throughout his years of service, Pastor Gabriel built bridges across church communities, mentored young ministers, and strengthened the Body of Christ through his steady hand and discerning spirit. He believed that leadership was service, and service was worship.
A devoted scholar, Pastor Gabriel pursued theological excellence with diligence and integrity, earning a Doctorate in Theology. He believed that loving God involved both heart and mind, encouraging others to study deeply, think critically, and grow spiritually. His insight and instruction blessed congregations, students, and fellow ministers alike, leaving a lasting imprint on all who sat under his teaching.
At home, he was a devoted and loving husband who modeled Christ’s love in both word and action. He was a proud and nurturing father who led his children with prayer, wisdom, and unwavering support. His family was his first ministry, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He is survived by his loving wife, Faith Ozala Ogboi; his cherished children, Efeosa E. Dada, Praise Dada, Odafin Dada, Gabriel C. Dada, and Gabriella E. Dada; and a legacy of faith, scholarship, love, and servant-hearted leadership that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Visitation will be held on March 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Home, 8601 Almeda Genoa Road, Houston, Texas 77075.
A funeral service will follow from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the same location. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Though our hearts grieve his earthly departure, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life. Pastor Dr. Gabriel D. Ogboi finished his race, kept the faith, and now rests in the presence of the Savior he so faithfully proclaimed. His legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
