Ramiro Hernandez Ortiz, 48, of Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 1st,2026, just 14 days short of his 49th birthday. He was born in Arcelia, Guerrero on June 15, 1977.
Driven by his love for family, Ramiro came to the United States from Mexico in search of greater opportunities so he could help support and provide for his parents. He stayed in Phoenix, Arizona for a week at the age of 19 before deciding to make his way to Houston, Texas in 1999. He worked for Modern Plumbing from 1999-2002 as a plumbing apprentice, Air-Care Southeast Inc from 2002-2003 helping dig for plumbing jobs, Boltex Manufacturing Forge from 2004-2010 in the area of production and machining, Reyes Pallet from 2014-2015, returned to Air-Care Southeast Inc from 2016-2019, and then returned to Modern Plumbing in 2021 till his final days. He took immense pride in being a plumber and found great satisfaction in using his skills to help others. His work was more than a job—it was a craft he truly enjoyed. In his free time, he enjoyed watching Club América, a famous men’s soccer team from Mexico he supported with unwavering loyalty. Whether celebrating victories or enduring tough losses, his passion for the team remained strong and was something he loved sharing with family and friends. But above all, Ramiro loved the Lord and lived a life grounded in faith. He was a devoted Christian who faithfully served the Lord through his church, Iglesia Amor Fraternal. His trust in God guided his actions, strengthened his family, and inspired those who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Alicia Hernandez; his parents Angelita Ortiz Vences and Fortino Hernandez Brito; his younger siblings, Martha Hernandez (Eladio Gomez), Monica Hernandez (Hugo Segundo), Leticia Hernandez (Raul Chavez), and Pablo Hernandez; and many beloved family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Thursday, June 4th,2026 from 5 PM – 9 PM, with a special Memorial Service beginning at 6 PM. His Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, June 5th,2026 at 9 AM. Interment will follow at 11:30 AM. Everything will take place at INTEGRITY FUNERAL HOME at FOREST LAWN CEMETERY, 8601 Almeda-Genoa Rd.; Houston, TX 77075.

Impulsado por su amor por la familia, Ramiro vino a los Estados Unidos desde México en busca de mayores oportunidades para poder ayudar y proveer para sus padres. Se quedó en Phoenix, Arizona, durante una semana a la edad de 19 años antes de decider ir a Houston, Texas en 1999. Trabajó para Modern Plumbing de 1999 a 2002 como aprendiz de plomería, Air-Care Southeast Inc de 2002 a 2003 ayudando a excavar para trabajos de plomería, Boltex Manufacturing Forge de 2004 a 2010 en la área de producción y mecanizado, Reyes Pallet de 2014 a 2015, regresó a Air-Care Southeast Inc de 2016 a 2019, y luego regresó a Modern Plumbing en 2021 hasta sus últimos días. Se enorgullecía mucho de ser plomero y encontró una gran satisfacción al usar sus habilidades para ayudar a los demás. Su trabajo fue más que un trabajo, fue un oficio que realmente disfrutaba. Pero sobre todo, Ramiro amaba al Señor y vivió una vida basada en la fe. Era un cristiano devoto que sirvió fielmente al Señor a través de su iglesia, Iglesia Amor Fraternal. Su confianza en Dios guió sus acciones, fortaleció a su familia e inspiró a aquellos que lo conocieron.
Le sobreviven su amada esposa de 22 años, Alicia Hernández; sus padres Angelita Ortiz Vences y Fortino Hernández Brito; sus hermanos menores, Martha Hernández (Eladio Gómez), Monica Hernández (Hugo Segundo), Leticia Hernández (Raúl Chávez), y Pablo Hernández; y muchos familiares y amigos extendidas.
