With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Jay Cavazos, a devoted husband, cherished father, beloved "Poppa," and a true friend to many. Robert left this world surrounded by the love of his family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and deep affection.
Robert was a man who never shied away from hard work—not just in his daily life, but in his personal journey as well. He faced many challenges in his earlier years, but through determination and heartfelt unconditional love, he overcame every obstacle in his path. It was this perseverance that shaped him into the loving man, father, brother, uncle, and poppa he became—a role model to his family and an inspiration to all who knew him.
He found peace and joy in the simple things: casting a line on a quiet morning, walking the beach with loved ones, cooking or enjoying laughter and stories shared with a drink and a meal. An avid hunter and fisherman, greatest hobbies of guns and knives. Robert was most at home in nature, yet his greatest love was always his family. Whether known as "Dad" or "Poppa," he gave his time, heart, and guidance without hesitation.
Robert’s legacy is one of love, redemption, and unwavering commitment to the people who mattered most. He taught those around him that it’s never too late to grow, to love more deeply, and to live fully.
